Tamayo is a major supporting character in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. She is a demon and a skilled doctor who allies with Tanjiro Kamado and the Demon Slayer Corps. Despite being a demon, Tamayo has retained her human emotions and works towards developing a cure for demonification.

Tamayo appears as a petite young woman with long, dark brown hair worn in a braided bun secured by a floral hairpin. She has large, gentle eyes that fade from dark purple to pale lavender and red lips contrasting her pale skin. Tamayo typically wears a dark purple hōmongi kimono decorated with pale purple branches and red flowers.

Gentle, wise, and incredibly intelligent, Tamayo shows great kindness towards humans despite being a demon. She is against violence and survives on blood bought from consenting donors. However, she displays a more vicious side when confronting Muzan Kibutsuji, revealing deep-seated hatred for him.
