About

Glass is a powerful Spirit Person warrior and the Vassal Fan Hero from an alternate world in The Rising of the Shield Hero. Known for her cold demeanor and unyielding loyalty, she fights to protect her realm even at great personal cost. Glass’s journey is one of duty and sacrifice; her loyalty to her world drives her to fight the heroes of Naofumi’s world, believing it’s the only way to save her own. Her skill and discipline in battle are matched only by her pride as a Vassal Hero, and she holds unwaveringly high expectations for herself and other heroes.

Glass embodies poise and elegance, yet beneath her composed exterior lies a fierce warrior willing to fight to the death for her homeland. Her personality is defined by seriousness, and she often appears stern and reserved. This stoicism melts slightly around Kizuna Kazayama, her best friend and ally, revealing glimpses of warmth and joy that few others ever see. Naofumi and his allies are often surprised by her fierce dedication, which contrasts starkly with the playful camaraderie he shares with his own party.

Glass has a traditional Japanese princess (Hime) haircut, her long black hair framing her pale, almost translucent skin. She typically wears a formal black kimono embroidered with silver, giving her an ethereal, otherworldly presence. During one of her visits to Naofumi’s world, she briefly adopted European-style clothing—though it was an awkward fit for her, as even Naofumi noted. Her striking red eyes and Spirit Person characteristics, combined with her solemn attire, give her an imposing aura that commands respect.

Powers & Abilities

Glass’s abilities are a formidable blend of her Spirit Person heritage and the supernatural powers of her Vassal Fan, allowing her to unleash devastating attacks in battle and protect those she cares for.

  • Vassal Fan Mastery: As the Fan Hero, Glass wields a mystical Vassal Fan capable of creating fierce gusts, slicing through enemies, and even dispelling powerful attacks. Her fan is both a weapon and shield, amplifying her already impressive combat skills.
  • Spirit Person Physiology: Glass’s translucent skin and spiritual nature grant her enhanced agility and resilience. Her Spirit Person heritage also connects her to supernatural energies, giving her powerful defenses against magical attacks.
  • Martial Arts Training: Glass is a disciplined martial artist trained by a prestigious school in her homeland. Her agility, precision, and skill in close combat make her a challenging opponent even without her fan.
  • Enhanced Endurance: As a hero, Glass has remarkable endurance, allowing her to endure long battles and sustain powerful attacks without wavering. Her commitment to her world and cause fuels her tenacity.
  • World-Rift Navigation: Glass has the ability to traverse worlds, a unique power she utilizes to defend her own by seeking to weaken or eliminate heroes of other realms. This skill is crucial in her mission to protect her world from merging catastrophically with Naofumi's.
