Look, we all love a good angsty yaoi story sometimes. The drama! The tears! The passionate makeup sessions!

But sometimes, you just need something sweet and heartwarming to make you smile. That's where fluffy yaoi comes in!

You've come to the right place if you're looking for some feel-good stories with adorable characters, awkward first dates, and happy endings.

There's no heartbreaking drama or painful misunderstandings here, just pure, unadulterated sweetness!

1. Golden Sparkle

Read Golden Sparkle on Rakuten Kobo

Himari's a high school freshman who knows next to nothing about sex. With no dad around and having skipped health class, he's clueless when he wakes up after a wet dream!

Thankfully, his new friend Gaku steps up to teach him everything he missed in health class (and then some!).

I can't believe I just discovered this manga! It's a short read, but it makes you feel warm inside. The story unfolds slowly and sweetly, with two main characters you can't help but love. It's more than just a sex story—it's about discovering your body and what (or who) you're into.

10/10 must-read!

2. Fortune Favors a Smile

Ikariya Emu's life has been tough. He grew up poor, and after his dad died, he learned he inherited a mountain of debt. Just when he thought things couldn't get worse, someone from his past showed up with a surprising offer.

I knew this manga would be amazing because it's by Yamamoto Kotetsuko, but don't let the tough start fool you! It gets way better and more heartwarming as the story goes on.

The plot is simple, but it's really well done. It's a 20-chapter story that never gets boring. The characters also grow on you, especially Emu. He starts off kind of prickly, but as he opens up, he becomes super endearing.

The relationship between Emu and Fukutomi is totally worth the wait. It's super satisfying, and the drama is just right. Even though Emu has to work to pay off his debts, it's actually kinda inspiring to read about.

If you need a little pick-me-up, I highly recommend this story. It's full of hope; who knows, it might even inspire you to change your life!

3. The God and the Flightless Messenger

Read The God and The Flightless Messenger on Tokyo Pop

Shin's a messenger born with tiny wings, so he can't fly like everyone else. He's always felt like an outcast, lonely, and picked on. But then, surprise!

He's assigned to care for a mysterious God on a faraway mountain. Things get even weirder when Gods and messengers start vanishing. What kind of trouble is Shin in now?

This manga is simple and sweet, like a warm hug on a cold day. Don't expect anything too heavy – even the conflicts get wrapped up quickly. But that's part of its charm! The fantasy world is fun to explore, and the author did a great job building it.

I'm so happy I stumbled upon this! It's adorable and heartwarming, although I wish there was more.

If you're looking for a quick, feel-good read, this is it. It's a nice break from all the drama and heavy stuff.

4. My Ultramarine Sky

Read My Ultramarine Sky on Kodansha

Kai and Ren have been inseparable since middle school, always sitting next to each other in class. But now that they're in their last year of high school, they've been separated into different classes, and Kai feels their friendship slipping away.

One day, he confesses his feelings to a sleeping Ren, unsure if it will bring them closer or push them further apart.

This manga by Nagisa Furuya is an absolute crowd favorite! The story might seem like a typical friends-to-lovers tale, but the pacing is perfect.

It lets the characters' feelings develop naturally, and I felt really connected to them and their story. The characters are so well-developed, and their banter with their friends is hilarious!

Even though it's only five chapters, the author does an amazing job of giving the characters backstories and showing how they met.

We get to see their personalities, emotions, and actions, which is impressive for such a short story. It's a truly heartwarming read that I can't recommend enough!

5. From a Country Like Lion

This manga is the sweetest boy-meets-boy story you'll ever read! It's about an imaginative animal lover who meets an exchange student from Maasai in Japan.

Trust me, it's the cutest thing ever. No drama, just pure, wholesome goodness. Both characters are super likable, and the art is just gorgeous. It's the perfect light read for a stressful day.

The connection between the characters feels real, even though things move a little fast.

And the intimate scenes are tastefully done, with clear consent – a refreshing change from some other yaoi manga. Also, some hilarious moments highlight the cultural differences between the two main characters.

This is a seriously underrated BL manga. It's a short, sweet story with everything you could want in a romance. The more you read, the more you'll fall in love with it, and by the end, you'll want to reread it again and again!

6. Karasugaoka Don't Be Shy!!

Read Karasugaoka Don't Be Shy!! on Amazon

In Karasugaoka, two groups of volunteers keep the peace: "VOICE" and "Karasukai," watching over the east and west sides of town.

Their leaders, Sou and Shinba, are like oil and water, always bickering. Secretly, though, Sou totally admires Shinba – he even saved him when he was a kid! But instead of saying that, he pretends he hates him.

This manga is a breath of fresh air, even if the plot has been done before.

The first volume focuses on different cases, while the second dives deeper into the growing romance between Sou and Shinba.

The humor is silly and fun, kinda like stuff you'd see from Isaku Natsume. The best part is how much the author clearly respects her characters!

She turns some of those tricky tropes in BL manga around, giving us a happy, healthy couple who communicate and respect each other. It's a relationship you can't help but cheer for!

If you want a fluffy, feel-good manga with a healthy romance and some seriously silly humor, this is the one for you!
