5. Kiss Him, Not Me
Credits: Brain's Base
Kae Serinuma is an awesome as well as kind otaku who's currently in high school. She loves food as much as she loves gobbling up BL manga. She used to be a bit overweight, so no boy in her class paid much attention to her. However, her life changes when her favorite character dies, affecting her so much that she starts missing meals and even gets sick.
Serinuma goes through a complete transformation: She's thin now and looks like a dream. As a result of this, four boys in her class start doting on her. And although they're good and nice men, she'd rather see them doting on each other instead of her. That would be a dream come true for a BL manga fan, right?
Kiss Him, Not Me does exceptionally well in its beginner episodes, introducing the story and the characters amazingly. It is also hilarious, so it is a must-watch if you want to witness something in a comedic setting. The main character's intense obsession with BL manga might initially seem excessive, but you may grow to like it over time.
4. Romantic Killer
Credits: DOMERICA
This one is a personal favorite, and it's really good. Romantic Killer centers around Anzu Hoshino, a girl who wants nothing to do with love. She often says she'd rather play video games, eat chocolates, and spend time with her cat. However, little does she know that her world, as she knows it, is about to take a 180-degree somersault turn.
One day, Anzu buys a new mysterious game and is extremely excited to try it. However, as soon as she plugs it in, a weird-looking pet wizard comes out of the game and commands her to focus on love. The pet even confiscates her favorite things to make her agree to the terms of this game. Soon enough, Anzu's life is filled with boys, all wanting to be with her.
Romantic Killer has some real good romance and some really good men! It has a perfect blend of comedy and drama that can make you binge-watch it in...like a day. You should definitely watch it today!
3. My Next Life as a Villainess: All Roads Lead to Doom
Credits: Silver Link
My Next Life as a Villainess: All Roads Lead to Doom follows Katarina Claes, a rich girl who hits her head pretty bad one day, only to see her past life flash before her eyes. As she goes through those memories, she comes face-to-face with a shocking truth. You see, she's not living in reality anymore. She's actually living in her favorite Otome game, Fortune Lover! But here's the kicker – she's not the adorable heroine destined for romance!
Katarina is stuck as the villainess, doomed for disaster in every single ending. And now, she has to find a way to change her fate. Where's her harem, you ask? Well, she collects a lot of female and male admirers along the way who essentially devote themselves to her cause. Katarina is incredibly dense and doesn't notice their obsession with her, but well, you will notice it just fine.
My Next Life as a Villainess: All Roads Lead to Doom is a lighthearted anime best suited for those who are looking for a fun twist on the Isekai genre. It has a great MC who is particularly popular for her kindness, determination, and utter obliviousness. And there are also many comedic elements blended with a lot of wholesomeness. You will absolutely love this anime if you love dense main characters.
2. The Wallflower
Credits: Nippon Animation
The Wallflower is all about Nakahara Sunako, a goth-girlie who's obsessed with gore, horror movies, and dark lipsticks. One day, Sunako's aunt sends her to live in her mansion with four ridiculously handsome boys. At first, Sunako is quite happy with this arrangement. However, soon, she finds out that her aunt doesn't charge these boys any rent.
Why? Well...it's because Sunako's aunt is trying to mold her into a more conventional, ladylike figure, and she wants these boys to help her with that. Don't worry, though! Because Sunako is the type to fight, she won't back down soon.
The Wallflower is an excellent reverse harem anime. You'll find it very hard to dislike any character in this series. More importantly, you will especially fall in love with its main character. You should definitely check it out if you haven't already.
1. Ouran High School Host Club
Credits: Studio Bones
Ouran High School Host Club revolves around Haruhi Fujioka, a scholarship student at the prestigious, high-end Ouran Academy, which is filled with rich kids. One day, while looking for a quiet place to study, Haruhi accidentally discovers the third music room, the room where the Ouran High School Host Club usually hangs out. She also accidentally breaks their vase, which costs around 60,000 USD. Now, she has to work for them as their errand boy to pay off that debt.
Ouran High School Host Club is a group of boys who throw host-like parties to "entertain" the ladies. Since Haruhi has short hair and wears poor-people clothes, these boys initially mistake her for a boy. However, when they realize she's not a boy, one by one, they all start falling for her.
Ouran High School Host Club is a classic reverse harem anime. It's such a classic that it might even be the anime that introduced you to the reverse harem genre. It's hilarious, light, sometimes romantic, and sometimes over the top. It's definitely worth a watch.
