Kaguya Yamai, along with her twin sister Yuzuru, was originally one Spirit known as Yamai. Due to unknown reasons, Yamai was split into two separate beings, each embodying different aspects of the original’s personality. Together, the Yamai twins possess a powerful, stormy presence known to the public as "The Children of the Typhoon." 

The two share a fierce sibling rivalry, engaging in endless competitions to determine who should be the “true” Yamai. Though their desire to merge is real, Kaguya and Yuzuru eventually choose to remain as two, with both keeping their powers by sealing them with Shido’s assistance.

Kaguya is outgoing, dramatic, and often acts with a flair of exaggerated confidence. She suffers from Chūnibyō, frequently using exaggerated gestures and obscure terms in an attempt to sound "cool." However, her bravado quickly falters when teased, revealing a softer side that is embarrassed by her own pretensions. Kaguya is easily flustered by sensuality, making her the more bashful of the Yamai twins in romantic matters.

Kaguya has a petite, delicate figure with long orange hair styled in two side braids that end in twisted curls. She wears a purple Astral Dress adorned with chains and a half-skirt, and her battle attire is complemented by a fierce, determined expression. In casual settings, she dons gothic lolita outfits and Raizen High School’s uniform, later transitioning to more mature, black clothing at university.

As a Spirit, Kaguya shares wind-based abilities with Yuzuru, allowing them to move at remarkable speeds. Together, they are regarded as the fastest Spirits, and they can unleash a typhoon force powerful enough to devastate a small island.
