Kurome

Akame ga Kill!

"Dark Assassin, Jaeger, Yatsufusa Wielder"
Kurome

About

Kurome, the younger sister of Akame, was trained from childhood as an assassin for the Empire. Sold alongside her sister, they were raised in different divisions, eventually finding themselves on opposite sides of the war. Kurome became a member of the Jaegers, wielding the powerful Teigu "Yatsufusa," which allowed her to control the corpses of those she killed.

Kurome’s deep bond with Akame was both her strength and her downfall, as her obsession with reuniting with her sister nearly destroyed them both.

Kurome shared several traits with her older sister Akame, including her stoic nature and enormous appetite, but she displayed a far darker personality. In battle, she was ruthless, efficiently dispatching enemies without hesitation. Her experiences in the Assassination Division left her cold and distant, haunted by the fear of becoming a weak link and being disposed of. As a result, Kurome grew attached to the corpses of her fallen comrades, whom she controlled with her Teigu, seeing them as a way to never be alone.

Kurome’s physical appearance bore a striking resemblance to Akame, though she wore her black hair in twin tails. She wore a black sailor uniform similar to Akame’s, complete with red accents and gauntlets. Her Teigu, Yatsufusa, was always by her side. Despite her grim demeanor, she had moments of childish innocence, often seen snacking on what she claimed were sweets but were actually drugs used to enhance her abilities.

Powers & Abilities

Kurome was an exceptionally skilled assassin and warrior, further enhanced by experimental drugs that pushed her body beyond its natural limits:

  • Yatsufusa (Teigu): Kurome’s Teigu was a sword capable of controlling up to eight corpses of those she killed. These reanimated bodies could fight for her, although they showed no emotions or will.
  • Swordsmanship: Like her sister, Kurome was highly proficient in swordsmanship, capable of fending off even the most skilled opponents in battle. Her reflexes were superhuman, allowing her to dodge enemy attacks, even from long-range snipers like Mine.
  • Drug Enhancements: Kurome underwent extensive drug treatments to compensate for her natural shortcomings. These drugs enhanced her physical abilities, including strength, speed, and endurance, but came at a cost. She developed an addiction, suffering painful withdrawal symptoms when deprived of the drugs. Over time, this took a toll on her body, shortening her lifespan and causing physical degradation.
