It’s past time I gave Koneko and all modest-sized oppais some love!

Koneko Toujou is another of the main female characters in the ecchi anime High School DxD. She is a sixteen-year-old with a petite build and big golden eyes! On top of that, through the series, she grows adorable cat ears and tails that make her even more precious!

Since it’s my first time talking about Koneko, let me give her a short introduction for those who don’t know this endearing waifu yet.

Koneko Toujou, or Shirone Toujou, is much shorter and has smaller proportions than the other Rias’s servants. She is more flat-chested with short white hair and golden eyes. When she’s in her nekomata form, her pupils become slit like a cat’s, and she gets big white cat ears and tails!

Koneko is one of those lucky individuals who can eat as much as she wants without gaining weight. But she feels a little insecure about her modest proportions, wishing for bigger oppais and other assets.

However, despite being small and apparently delicate, Koneko is exceptionally strong! Because she’s Rias’s Rook, Koneko can lift objects several times her size without effort. Plus, her defense is enhanced by the power of the devil piece.

But her powers don’t stop there. Her rare yokai nature grants specific abilities and enhanced senses that only a nekomata has!

Koneko was first introduced as emotionless and hard to approach due to her traumatic past.

She is originally Shirone, the younger of two daughters born from the union between a man and Nekomata. Her father was a scientist who used her for his experiments.

After losing her parents in an accident caused by an experiment, she and her sister Kuroka were taken in by a Devil, who reincarnated as his peerage. However, Kuroka's power as a Nekomata grew out of control, eventually causing her to kill the devil!

Because of the incident, Koneko was sentenced to death. However, she was rescued and left under Rias' care. The trauma caused by those events made Koneko act cold for a long time.

As the show progresses, we see Koneko’s true personality gradually emerge. She eventually feels comfortable doing things like this:

By The Way, Do You Know What a Nekomata Is?

A nekomata is a creature from Japanese folklore, often described as a cat that has lived for many years and gained supernatural abilities and a second or split tail. It’s a yokai said to control the dead and to be extremely intelligent. They are sometimes mischievous, depending on their relationship with humans.

In High School DxD, they are a species consisting mainly of female individuals that seek human males for mating. They also have a "mating season" and go into heat. This explains why Koneko Toujou generally doesn’t act as flirtatious as her friends but attempts to seduce Issei so she can have his baby.

Have a Nyanderful week!
