Reading Yaoi manga feels like living a forbidden romance! The steamy moments stay between the story and I, and nobody else knows why I look shocked, sad, or excited.

And whenever a great yaoi manga receives an anime adaptation, I burst with joy because I can see and hear the characters instead of simply imagining their movements or voices. It’s like a dream come true! Plus, I'm happy for the author and their success!

Here’s my list of yaoi mangas I hope will receive an anime adaptation one day. If you haven’t read them, pick the one that resonates with you and start reading it ASAP.

Five Yaoi Manga That Should Get An Anime Adaptation:

Ten Count (MAL Score: 7.89)

Ten Count received a brief adaptation, being part of the OVA “Six Lovers.” But this six-volume manga deserves way more than just one episode! Ten Count was supposed to be adapted into an anime movie, but in January this year, the film was canceled due to production issues.

In Ten Count, Tadaomi Shirotani suffers from mysophobia (germophobia), an irrational and extreme fear of germs and bacteria.

One day, as requested by the company president where he works, Shirotani meets Riku Kurose, who quickly identifies his mysophobia and suggests he seek professional help.

Coincidentally, Kurose works at the clinic Shirotani visited and offers to treat Shirotani's condition. As part of the treatment, Kurose asks Shirotani to write a list of 10 things he is reluctant to do. Everything but the last item (#10) was listed and approached.

With the last item left blank and their relationship becoming stronger, Kurose issues a challenge. Once Shirotani figures out the last item, Kurose will reveal the ulterior motive behind his actions.

Blood Bank (MAL Score: 7.52)

Blood Bank is a manhwa available on Lezhin. It consists of handsome vampires, drama, and breathtaking scenes.

The story takes place in a world where submissive humans willingly offer their blood to vampires, leading to the creation of "blood banks."

When Shell Overlord, the son of an elite bank lord, visits the bank one day, he notices that one of the bankers, known as "One," is one of the extremely rare humans immune to his pheromones. These people don’t surrender to his orders.

But instead of being alarmed or outraged, Shell is enthralled by the idea of being dominated by a human and begs One to fulfill his submissive needs. While the two try to keep their kinky relationship a secret, they gradually realize their bond is far deeper and stronger than ever imagined!

Private Prince (MAL Score: 7.53)

Private Prince is such a captivating yaoi manga from the early 2000’s. But this gem was canceled, and I never read the ending! It would be great to have an anime adaptation that shows how the love story between Kaoru and Veirne ends.

Private Prince is about Kaoru Matsuno, who works for a fancy department store that sells elegant men's clothing. At the store, a unique mannequin named Mister Veirne is said to bring about good business. It’s a very charming mannequin with unbelievably beautiful features.

Shockingly, when Kaoru is alone with Mister Veirne one day, the mannequin comes to life and later reveals they are a prince under a terrible curse. Despite the complicated circumstances, a funny and lovely relationship between the mannequin prince and clerk starts to bloom.

Shutline (MAL Score: 7.76)

Here’s another Yaoi Manwha because they really know how to make HOT stories!

Shutline tells the story of a broke mechanic, Shin, and his wealthy customer, Jake. Shin normally struggles to make money as a mechanic, but when he meets a good-looking man willing to pay extra for his services, he sees an opportunity to change his life!

Shin was right; his life would surely change. But little does Shin know that giving Jake his number might have been a colossal mistake. Soon, the mechanic will learn that Jake wants services beyond fixing cars.

Honto Yajuu (MAL Score: 8.47)

I’m sure I’m not the only one who wants to see an animated version of this yaoi manga!

Tomoharu Ueda is a policeman who lives a happy, quiet life with his job at the local Police Box until he runs into yakuza member Aki Gotouda. Tomoharu didn’t expect to be confessed to, but still, the cop and the gangster engage in a lovey-dovey relationship.

However, a relationship between members of two opposite sides is anything but laid-back. Ueda is about to discover how dangerous it can be to date Gotouda!
