Kavetham is Genshin's best-kept secret. Listen, you can't deny the chemistry between these two. I mean, they're practically inseparable!
Kaveh is constantly complaining about Al Haitham, but let's be real, who else would he put up with living in his home rent-free? And Al Haitham, Mr. Stoic, and Aloof seem to have a soft spot for Kaveh's antics.
People even joke that they're like a married couple!
So let's put that suspicion to the test and look at Kavetham's Gayest moments!
1. Sethos' Voiceline
Starting strong with the most recent Kavetham piece: Sethos' voiceline.
According to Sethos's voiceline, Kavetham is now practically joined at the hip! I mean, regularly hanging out at cafes, taverns, AND the Grand Bazaar? That's not just "roommates" behavior; that's DATE territory!
And let's not forget those heated arguments that practically echo through Sumeru City. I mean, leaving passive-aggressive notes on multiple bulletin boards across Sumeru City and Port Ormos?
They're basically leaving a breadcrumb trail of their relationship drama for everyone to follow! The Mahamata Bulletin Board, Puspa Café Message Board, and the Port Ormos Bulletin Board are like their personal love-hate letter exchange!
2. Their matching idles
This is the first time two characters have matching idle animations in Genshin Impact!
In Alhaitham's idle, he finds Kaveh's house key attached to his own! He even shrugs a little before casually putting it back, like he's totally used to having Kaveh's stuff mixed up with his. But wait, in the Chinese, Japanese, and Korean versions, he goes "Tch!" like he's annoyed, but we all know he's not really.
Meanwhile, Kaveh's idle is him freaking out because he can't find his key. He's so oblivious that it's literally hanging out with Alhaitham's keys! This is peak domestic fluff, you guys! They're practically married already!
3. Kavetham Feeding Each Other
When Alhaitham receives a soup-based dish as a gift, he asks to take it home, suggesting he's thinking of someone else to share it with (I mean, who else but Kaveh). Al Haitham hates soup to the point his own signature dish was originally a soup, but he turned it into a pizza!
But you know who else in his house likes soup? Kaveh.
During the 3.6 event, Kaveh brought food home, and when Al Haitham heard about it, he went home expecting leftovers! That only means he expected Kaveh to bring some food for him, too!
And if they can't get any gayer, they have Serenitea pot voicelines that indicate they want to go home. All I can say is Kavetham canon!
4. The Archon Quest
This archon quest is what gave birth to our very first Kavetham interaction!
In the Sumeru Archon quest, they're constantly bickering like an old married couple! Kaveh is clearly annoyed with Alhaitham's dismissive attitude, and he's not buying any of his excuses. He even thinks Alhaitham is a threat!
Kaveh is basically living in Alhaitham's shadow, and it's driving him crazy. Alhaitham even admits that Kaveh is a "nuisance," (But there's something about the way he says it that makes me think he secretly enjoys having Kaveh around)
When Kaveh tries to tell Alhaitham about the rumors of him becoming the Grand Sage, Alhaitham just scoffs and calls him out for being clueless. It's like they can't resist getting a rise out of each other!
5. Al Haitham's Story Quest
Alhaitham's story quest started with said man being all mysterious and cryptic, leaving Paimon and me hanging with our burning questions.
That is until we meet Kaveh for the first time in Al Haitham's house!
Kaveh spills the tea about being roommates with Alhaitham, even though they used to be friends. Throughout the quest, Kaveh and Alhaitham are constantly bickering and throwing shade at each other.
It's hilarious but also kind of adorable. Just like an old married couple!
6. Kaveh's Hangout
Did you see how much Alhaitham is all over Kaveh's Hangout Event? I mean, he even makes a special guest appearance! He might well be married, given how much he appeared in his hangout.
And get this - Kaveh totally expects Alhaitham to buy him drinks, even though he can afford his own wine! It's hilarious, but also super sus! He even admits he relies on Alhaitham more than his other friends. And guess what? Alhaitham actually *does* buy Kaveh drinks! It's confirmed in his birthday message!
7. Parade of Providence
The Parade of Providence event had every Kavetham lover well-fed!
Alhaitham was rocking it as a commentator and judge. He's so smart and cool; I could listen to him talk about anything all day! And Kaveh, my precious cinnamon roll, was absolutely slaying the competition as a contestant for Kshahrewar. He's so passionate and talented. I just wanted to give him a big hug!
But wait, there's more! The drama between these two was OFF THE CHARTS. Alhaitham was all aloof and dismissive (classic him), while Kaveh was just trying to fulfill his dad's dream, as well as buy a house (precious baby). Their arguments were hilarious, but you could tell there was something deeper going on between them.
And then, the moment we've all been waiting for... Kaveh WON the whole thing! Can you believe it? My sweet, adorable Kaveh beat all the other contestants and even impressed Alhaitham with his selfless act of breaking the diadem!
8. Cyno Story Quest 2
Kaveh, being the sweetheart he is, even offered to help Alhaitham with his research, even though it meant they'd both be pulling an all-nighter.
Their banter was absolutely adorable! Kaveh teased Alhaitham about his selective listening skills, and Alhaitham rolled his eyes but secretly loved the attention. You could totally tell they were in sync, their minds working together to crack the case, especially when they figured out that Cyrus had gone to the Temple of Silence alone!
Seeing them cleaning up the library together at the end of the quest was the cherry on top. Alhaitham admitting to having too much coffee was so cute, and Kaveh's invitation to stop by the House of Daena before heading home was just the sweetest thing ever.
I can't wait to see more of their adorable interactions in future quests. Maybe they'll even go on a double date with Cyno and Tighnari!
