These are some of the anime aired from January to March this year that you shouldn't miss!

Winter is the first anime season of the year and runs from January to March.

As with each year, promising new projects release at the same time that new seasons and cour of good shows air.

We don’t want to miss the new weekly episodes of long-time anime favorites and the new projects that air every week. So, in the end, there are so many anime to watch that one can easily get lost, amiright?

But worry not about this challenge, my otaku friend! I thought of each of you and prepared a summary that might help...

Back in Action

The standout of this season was the well-known anime sequels. The first anime season of 2023 brought back shows I already love, and I'm happy so far!

This season included the awaited return of Bungou Stray Dogs and Vinland Saga. In addition, the fans of DanMachi (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) and Tokyo Revengers enjoyed more episodes.

Also, experienced otakus got to reminisce about old times with the reboot of Trigun Stampede, either sweetly or bitterly. Significant changes exist between the original and the latest versions of the anime.

But it's worth not overthinking the differences and giving the new Vash a chance!

Winter Season Highlights

This year's winter season wasn't made only of sequels, however. Brilliant new anime projects aired too!

For example, one that drew my attention in the isekai anime genre was Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill. In this anime, a simple skill proves to be important to Tsuyoshi Mukouda, who was summoned to a fantasy world by accident.

Also, let me mention these two sweeties: Tomo-chan is a Girl! and Buddy Daddies.

Tomo-Chan is a Girl – is a Romcom with fantastic comedy and sweet romance. In this anime, Tomo is in love with her childhood friend, Jun, but he only sees her as a guy. Tomo-chan is determined to show him that despite her tomboyish behavior, she is a woman.

In contrast, Buddy Daddies has a different premise (central concept) but is equally wholesome, in my opinion! This show is about the assassins Kazuki and Rei and how they suddenly become fathers when little Miri accidentally enters their lives.

Miri is so innocent and cute that she eventually melted the hearts of those big bad guys and otakus alike!

Oopsie Daisy!

This season had a small portion of bad news.

NieR:Automata Ver1.1a had its setbacks and is yet to be finished. Some episodes were delayed through February and March. The creators also announced that the next episodes would be postponed after episode eight aired.

It is hard not to think about Uncle from Another World when I mention episodes being postponed multiple times. But for this anime, the situation is different.

The final episode aired on March 8th. So if you were waiting for the release to watch this series, have fun!
