With the so may new anime hitting our screens, it can sometimes make us nostalgic of animes that deserved better. We were able to see some of our favorite remade in recent years, such as Fruits Basket, Higurashi When They Cry, and soon Tokyo Mew Mew New! There are some renowned pieces that fans just can’t get enough of, here’s a list of 5 Anime classics that need a reboot!

Soul Eater

The world of death city is a place where the lord of death has an academy in which “Death Scythes” are raised, weapons that Shinigami use against evil. These students of the Shinigami Weapon Meister Vocational School go on life-threatening missions, fighting to protect the city from threats while growing towards their goals.

The anime was released back in 2008 with 51 episodes and considering the fan following that is still active, it could use a reboot with today's graphics covering the gorgeous action scenes of the original. The story itself keeps you interested with its action and comedy, so it’s sure to be a hit within newer anime.

Tokyo Ghoul

It’s already been around 8 years since we were introduced to the bleak world of Tokyo Ghoul. In the escalating bloodbath between society's new monsters and the government operatives who seek them, we watch Kaneki clings to his humanity While the anime was good, true Tokyo Ghoul fans know that it does not compare to the story followed in the manga.

Released in 2014 with 2 seasons totaling 24 episodes, the series brought an incredibly dark world with amazing action and nail-biting suspense. Although fans weren’t too happy with season 2, the story itself is such that it definitely deserves another adaptation, perhaps closer to the source material this time.

Akame ga Kill!

A young country bumpkin, Tatsumi, comes to the big city with his friends but the world is much darker than we surmise. Losing his friends to a corrupt government, he stumbles onto a group of assassins, the Night Raid, which aims to overthrow the government. This anime is filled with blood, death, and misery as we ride a rollercoaster of emotions.

The anime consists of 24 episodes and was released back in 2014. It kept fans on the edge of their seats, an experience they would enjoy once more if those fight scenes had even better choreography using today’s technology.

Rurouni Kenshin

Rurouni Kenshin is a timeless work that tells the narrative of Hitokiri Battousai, a legendary assassin. We stumble on to him as he’s let go of his blood-filled ways, now going by the name of Kenshin Himura, having vowed never to kill again. The story moved us through the emotions faced by a man looking to uphold his new ideals as enemies from both past and present do everything they can to tempt him into reverting to his old ways.

Rurouni Kenshin was released back in 1996 with 94 episodes. Considering the time it was released, it’s safe to say that this timeless classic deserves a reboot with everything the present has to offer.

Ouran Highschool Host Club

Haruhi Fujioka becomes part of the Host club of Ouran Academy, a what she thought was a music club (filled with attractive boys), after breaking an expensive vase and thus getting coerced into joining, having been mistaken for a boy. A romantic comedy of 26 episodes, released back in 2006, it hosts an adorable story that is sure to have you laughing.

Like many other shojos, Ouran Highschool Host Club was not fully adapted, despite fans waiting anxiously for a season 2. It is an understatement to say that fans are ready for this hilarious masterpiece to be rebooted.
