Rias Gremory and Akeno Himejima are two big names among fans of ecchi and sexy waifus. However, as new generations of otaku come, not all know about High School DxD. And as a huge fan, I can’t let that happen!
If you want to know more about Rias, Akeno, and the other gorgeous waifus, follow this High School DxD Watch Order I prepared for my fellow otakus to start 2024 with!
Each season and episode has its own title. So, if you’re confused about the watch order, that might be the reason. Anime can be a bit tricky sometimes!
Let’s get into the details.
This is where everything begins! The first season of High School DxD aired during the winter anime season (from January to March) in 2012. It covers the “The Red Dragon Emperor's Awakening” arc of the light novel series.
The Japanese channel AT-X broadcast the uncensored episode versions, while other channels and FUNimation aired a censored format.

The second step is to watch High School DxD New. Notice how the W looks like nice, round oppais?
The second season aired in Summer 2013 and covers only the first half of the arc named "Birth of the Breast Dragon Emperor."

The OVA was released only two years later, in 2015. It features an original story similar to the ones from previous seasons.
13 "I'm Enveloped in Breasts!"
After gasping at new waifus and shocking revelations, watch High School DxD Born. This is the third season of the anime that aired during the Spring anime season of 2015 and follows the second half of the "Birth of the Breast Dragon Emperor" arc.
This season also covers part of the arc “The Heroic Oppai Dragon” of the light novel.

Finally, you can watch the latest season! The fourth season of High School DxD came with changes in studios and art style that shocked and upset some fans. It aired in Spring 2018 and adapts the second part of the "The Heroic Oppai Dragon" arc from the light novels.

Blu-ray disc volumes for seasons one and three also had six short side stories that didn’t affect the watch order of High School DxD. However, I recommend watching them for their sexiness if you can!

It's rumored that High School DxD Season Five was supposed to launch in 2020, but its development was interrupted by the pandemic. And there are no official announcements so far. I wish they would announce something soon!
Still, considering the number of light novels in the High School DxD series, there’s enough material for new episodes. Plus, new official media is still being released, showing fans haven’t forgotten about it (I haven’t!).
Should we keep our hopes alive?
High School DxD episodes and season titles aren’t the most intuitive, but with them in the correct order, you can start 2024 watching one of the most memorable ecchi anime ever!
